Lakeland Bank Staff Donates to St. Jude
Employees raise $3,000 to help find cures for catastrophic childhood diseases
Oak Ridge, N.J. – June 18, 2012 –– Employees at Lakeland Bank selected St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® as one of their favorite charities to support through the company’s Jeans Day program. The $3,000 contributed will help St. Jude with their mission of finding cures and saving children from catastrophic childhood diseases.
“The health of children in our communities, whether here in New Jersey or halfway around the globe, is a concern for many of us,” said Thomas J. Shara, president and CEO of Lakeland Bank. “And, I am proud that my colleagues support organizations such as St. Jude that strive to save the lives of hundreds of thousands of children suffering from cancer and other devastating diseases.”
For 50 years, St. Jude has changed the way the world treats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, the hospital remains committed to its mission and is open to children from the United States as well as those from around the world. No child is ever denied treatment, because of a family’s inability to pay. Visit www.stjude.org

“The donation from Lakeland Bank is greatly appreciated,” said Leah Heister, senior event marketing representative at St. Jude. “And, we can’t thank the staff enough for their continued support of St. Jude.”
The Bank’s Jeans Day program provides an opportunity for employees to wear jeans on Fridays if they contribute $10 or more monthly to Lakeland Bank Charities. Employees nominate their favorite charities at the beginning of the year, and each month a charity is selected to receive a donation.
