2018 Annual Scholarship Golf Outing Scheduled for September 25
Oak Ridge, N.J., July 27, 2018 – Lakeland Bank was pleased to distribute $165,000 in scholarships to high school seniors from 73 local high schools in Bergen, Somerset, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Ocean, Essex, Warren, and Union counties in New Jersey and Orange County, New York. The funds were raised last September at the Bank’s 2017 Annual Scholarship Golf Outing.
“The results of the 2017 Lakeland Bank Annual Scholarship Golf Outing allowed us to provide scholarships to over 80 students, which was an increase from last year,” said Thomas Shara, president and CEO of Lakeland Bank. “Supporting high school students in the communities we serve is one of our priorities because we strongly believe that helping students have access to an affordable higher education will pave the way for them to become strong and intelligent leaders in our local neighborhoods.”
The scholarships are presented to students selected by their public or private school who have demonstrated academic success and have an interest in pursuing a higher education. Lakeland Bank congratulates the students who were selected to receive the 2018 scholarships and encourages students entering their senior year to contact the Guidance department at their school to learn how to apply for a Lakeland Bank Scholarship.
This year’s Lakeland Bank Annual Scholarship Golf Outing will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Crystal Springs Golf Resort located in Hamburg, N.J. The goal for 2018 is to raise $175,000 to support both public and private high schools in the communities Lakeland Bank serves. Learn more about sponsorship opportunities at the Golf Outing.
