$100,000 donation will help finance the “Empower Eastside” Project
Oak Ridge, N.J. – September 27, 2023 – Lakeland Bank is pleased to continue to participate in the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Program (NRTC) administered by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for 2023. As part of the program this year, the Bank contributed $100,000 to The Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic (BGCPP) for their project, “Empower Eastside” to provide Economic Mobility for the residents and business owners of Passaic’s Eastside community through affordable housing, supportive programming and business support.
“We have been partners with the BGCPP for many years and are so pleased that we can continue to support this amazing organization with the ‘Empower Eastside’ project to provide access to resources, education, opportunity and success to help build a self-sustaining community,” said Roxanne Camejo, Senior Vice President, Community Development Officer.
The BGCPP has served the community for nearly 60 years, serving as a trusted space for youth programs, a support system for working parents, a gathering place for community events and an athletic center providing health and wellness opportunities for residents.
“We understand that the Eastside community requires a greater level of support and with us putting forth “Empower Eastside”, we are responding to the community’s voice. With a variety of activities for families and businesses, we are hopeful that it will help build a community that is capable of maintaining its own success. With the support of Lakeland Bank, we are able to accomplish critical work and improve our community,” said Wendy McGuire, BGCPP’s CEO.
